The Northampton Jazz Festival is seeking jazz musicians to perform at participating downtown merchants and establishments leading up to Jazz Fest Day, September 30.

Festival producers are organizing more music than in past years – adding both venues and musicians to play at those venues. The first jazz festival event is Jazzy Arts Night Out on August 11. Organized in partnership with the Downtown Northampton Association, four to five merchants will open their doors to art, artisans as well as live jazz musicians. On the following six Fridays leading up to the Jazz Strut on Sept. 29, selected restaurants, breweries and bars will feature a jazz ensemble at their establishment – one ensemble at one establishment per week. The Friday Jazz Strut on Sept. 29 features ensembles at each of the same six participating establishments with staggered start times so patrons can take in a lot of live jazz on Jazz Strut night. Student, local and regional musicians are featured at all of these events leading up to Saturday, Sept. 30, Jazz Fest Day.

Interested musicians should complete the online artist submission form at https://bit.ly/3KTsV6r to be considered for this year's Northampton Jazz Festival. Submissions are due on May 1.

The Northampton Jazz Festival is a celebration of jazz music held yearly in downtown Northampton since 2011, collaborating with local businesses and performers to provide the community with live musical performances. From jazz strolls to intimate venues with Grammy Award winning performers, Northampton Jazz Fest weekend has become a staple of the community.
