Juan Araneda and Nick Shaw

The Juan Araneda trio, featuring Ed Montalvo and Nick Shaw, offers a delightful blend of musical styles centered around Latin jazz genres including samba, bossa nova, salsa, fusion, classic jazz standards, a touch of flamenco and more! Juan specializes in nylon stringed guitar accompanied by Nick Shaw, a master Afro-Puerto Rican drummer/percussionist, and Ed Montalvo, electric bassist and founding member of the NYC Latin group Seguida among numerous other ensembles. 

The theme for the May Carle After Dark event is Viva Ferdinand. Inspired by The Story of Ferdinand, join the Carle for an evening of live music and imagination as we celebrate a character who reminds us that sometimes the most powerful thing to do is pause and enjoy the beauty all around us.
